چکیده

The tool FLOW* performs Taylor model-based flowpipe construction for non-linear (polynomial) hybrid systems. FLOW* combines well-known Taylor model arithmetic techniques for guaranteed approximations of the continuous dynamics in each mode with a combination of approaches for handling mode invariants and discrete transitions. FLOW* supports a wide variety of optimizations including adaptive step sizes, adaptive selection of approximation orders and the heuristic selection of template directions for aggregating flowpipes. This paper describes FLOW* and demonstrates its performance on a series of nonlinear continuous and hybrid system benchmarks. Our comparisons show that FLOW* is competitive with other tools.

Simultaneous production planning and scheduling in a hybrid flow shop with time periods and work shifts

Simultaneous production planning and scheduling has been identified as one of the most important factors that affect the efficient implementation of planning and scheduling operations for the production systems. In this paper, simultaneous production planning and scheduling is applied in a hybrid flow shop environment, which has numerous applications in real industrial settings. In this problem...

Soft Switching MBC Controller for MIMO Linear Hybrid Systems

Switching supervisory is the most important section of a feedback control process inMIMO hybrid systems. By choosing a non-compatible controller, system may go tounstable mode or high overshoot response. In this paper, a new method of switchingfor selecting MBC controllers is discussed. Results of the simulation show the MIMO(2-in 2-out) linear hybrid system can be switched stable and low overs...

A Flow shop Production Planning Problem with basic period policy and Sequence Dependent set up times

Many authors have examined lot sizing, scheduling and sequence of multi-product flow shops, but most of them have assumed that set up times are independent of sequence. Whereas dependence of set up times to sequence is more common in practice. Hence, in this paper, we examine the discussed problem with hypothesis of dependence of set up times to sequence and cyclic schedule policy in basic peri...

Non-linear Fractional-Order Chaotic Systems Identification with Approximated Fractional-Order Derivative based on a Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization-Genetic Algorithm Method

Although many mathematicians have searched on the fractional calculus since many years ago, but its application in engineering, especially in modeling and control, does not have many antecedents. Since there are much freedom in choosing the order of differentiator and integrator in fractional calculus, it is possible to model the physical systems accurately. This paper deals with time-domain id...

A Mathematical Model and a Solution Method for Hybrid Flow Shop Scheduling

This paper studies the hybrid flow shop scheduling where the optimization criterion is the minimization of total tardiness. First, the problem is formulated as a mixed integer linear programming model. Then, to solve large problem sizes, an artificial immune algorithm hybridized with a simple local search in form of simulated annealing is proposed. Two experiments are carried out to evaluate th...
